Welcome Your Residents Home
Welcome gifts are becoming very popular these days and a lot of complexes are giving them out. So you have to be creative and come up with something that no other complex is doing. Just think about your tenants and what they like and go from there. But in the meantime, here are a few ideas to get you started…First, don’t stress over this. You don’t have to spend a lot to make your tenant’s feel at home. It is the thought that counts.
A gift card to the grocery store with a note that says: “What’s for Dinner?” or “Don’t forget to eat.”…
You can give them a cloth bag from the local grocery store…this helps them be eco-friendly.
Give them the kinds of items that people tend to forget…toilet paper, paper towels, a trash bag or two, etc. and put a card with it that says: “Let us take the paperwork out of moving.”…
A toilet plunger with some toilet paper and a large, pretty ribbon with a card that says: “Thanks for taking the plunge with us.”
Write a nice note that says welcome to your new home and we are here for you if you need anything. Let the entire staff sign the card.
Start a meet and greet with your residents. Have items in a cloth bag, basket, etc that your ‘meet and greet’ tenants can take to the new tenants to welcome them.
Do a “New Move-in” booklet. Just take a binder and fill it with information that your residents might need. Directions to the grocery store, schools, libraries, etc. You might put a change of address form from the Post Office inside their booklet. Things that people just don’t think about when they are first moving.
Help make your resident’s move as smooth as possible and they will remember you for it.
