Creating a Newsletter for Your Tenants
Don’t panic…this is easier than you might think. All a newsletter really is, is information that will entertain and inform your residents of things going on in your complex and/or community. Lots of information and just as much fun..
Do NOT put lease violations, etc in your newsletter. You want it to be fun so your residents will want to read it.
Give your newsletter a name…make it related to your complex and let your residents help pick the name…You can let them submit a name they would like the newsletter be and then you can put it on a list and let them vote for it. Give the resident who submitted the winning name a prize.
Now decide how much information you want to include. I have done newsletter that were 1 page and I’ve done them where they were 4 pages. You can start out small and add to it after you see how well it goes over.
So what do you put in the newsletter? Trivia questions that go with the month, a Happy Birthday list of your residents who are having a birthday that month, a recipe, a money saving tip and don’t forget the children. I do a different newsletter for them. The adult newsletter comes out every month and the children’s newsletter comes out every 2 months. The children’s newsletter has riddles, jokes, craft, recipe they can make, etc.
You can have a section that has information on what is going on in your town, etc.
Whatever information you put in your newsletter, just make sure it is fun and entertaining.
